This webpage provides advice and support for staff and students based at our Gatton campus in light of the recent rain event.

The page will continue to be updated as required.

Continuing rain across the region today has resulted in flooding on the Gatton Campus and surrounding areas, and a number of roads are closed, including the Warrego Highway.

Campus status

While the campus is open and operating, there is widespread water across many areas of the campus, with some isolated flooding.

The UQ team on the ground is reporting that the campus is holding up and there are no immediate concerns.

Accessing campus

Over the coming days, staff who need to access the field areas of the campus must contact the Farm Team (Rob Eccles 0429 722 341) prior to entering these areas and please remain on the roads and hard standing.

Staff

Staff can work from campus tomorrow, Wednesday 31 January. Prior to travelling to campus, please check the Lockyer Valley Regional Council website for road closures before planning travel.

If it is not safe to travel, please contact your manager/supervisor to let them know you will need to work from home. Staff who are unable to work from home can apply for Special Leave via Workday.

We know that some staff living locally will have been impacted by the recent weather. Our employee assistance program is available for staff who may need support and assistance.

Staff who may be unable to travel home this evening and need temporary accommodation overnight should contact UQ Security on (07) 3365 3333.

Intercampus bus service

The morning bus service between St Lucia and Gatton tomorrow, Wednesday 31 January, has been rescheduled to 10am at both locations. There will be no buses before this time.

Further changes to tomorrow’s afternoon schedule will be decided once we assess the weather in the morning.

Staying safe

Please remember if it’s flooded, forget it, and report any incidents or damage to UQ Security on (07) 3365 3333.
