Staff, students and visitors to UQ Gatton all have a part to play when it comes to safety and biosecurity.

To streamline and secure access to University of Queensland fields there is now a QR code entry system. This helps us maintain accurate records of paddock usage, contributing to better resource management and biosecurity on the farms.

QR codes are located at the entry point of these fields*:

  • C Blocks
  • Creek Banks
  • Darwin
  • Farrer
  • Foxlee
  • Gilbert
  • Harvey Rice
  • Kelner
  • Langmuir East
  • Langmuir West
  • Mendel
  • Moonie
  • Schultz Blocks
  • Waas

All visitors to these fields will need their own smart phone or tablet to scan the QR code and fill in the access form. If you require instructions on using QR codes, please see below.

*Please note that entry into a controlled GM crop area will have an additional entry requirement. The QR code entry system does not grant you access to these areas.

Preparation

Please wear high-visibility clothing when in a UQ field.

Before entering a UQ field, please read the UQ Gatton Campus Biosecurity Management Plan (PDF, 1.6 MB).

All visitors must complete a mandatory safety induction before entering a field at UQ Gatton. To arrange your induction, please get in touch:
