A proud UQ alumna, Susan now leads the very campus where her own journey began. As Director of UQ Gatton, she is passionate about seeing the campus thrive and is deeply committed to making it a great place for students to learn and grow, as well as a welcoming hub for the local community. She drives the strategic and operational management of the 1,068-hectare site, ensuring it continues to deliver world-class teaching, research, and engagement with Schools, Institutes, industry, government, and community partners.

Susan also oversees the Gatton Farms, managing operations across the dairy, beef cattle, equine, sheep, and goat units, along with the horticultural and cropping fields that support teaching, learning, and research.

Rob Eccles

Rob leads the Crops Team at UQ Gatton, overseeing the management and operations of the campus’s extensive horticultural and cropping fields. With a focus on sustainable and innovative farming practices, he supports teaching, learning, and research initiatives while ensuring the fields are productive and engaging for students and researchers alike. Rob is passionate about sharing his knowledge and helping others get involved.

Manager, Livestock Team

Steve heads up the Livestock Team at UQ Gatton, managing the dairy, beef cattle, equine, sheep, and goat units. He ensures the animals are well cared for while supporting the teaching, research, and engagement programs that rely on these diverse herds. Steve is committed to creating opportunities for students and the community to engage with livestock programs.
