The Gift To The University

Portion 601 and Resubdivision 1 of Subdivision 1 of Portion 602 were given to the University by Mrs H.R.M Boyce on Seventh May 1969

"upon the trusts following that is to say:

(a) The said land will be held in perpetuity by the trustee and used for such educational purposes of the said University of Queensland as the Senate shall from time to time direct.

(b) In holding and using the said land for the purposes aforesaid the trustee shall maintain as gardens the gardens on the said land surrounding the larger dwelling house now erected on the said land to the east of such dwelling house and shall preserve and develop as a natural forest the natural forest on the said land but so nevertheless that the said gardens and natural forest may be utilised by the trustee as a botanical garden and natural forest for the education of the public."

Subdivision 2 of Portions 602 and 603 was given to the University on the same date Seventh May 1969 by Mr L.A. Boyce,

"Upon trust that the said land shall be held in perpetuity by the trustee and used for such of the educational purposes of the said University of Queensland as the Senate shall from time to time direct."
