2018 Distinguished Past Student Award Winner

Donald James Oxenham attended the Queensland Agricultural College High School and College (now The University of Queensland’s Gatton campus), graduating with a Diploma in Animal Husbandry in 1958.  He has managed to combine a career as a researcher in animal nutrition with a career as a rugby league official.

After graduation, Don took up a position with CSIRO at the Cooper Laboratory at Lawes where he undertook research on the digestibility of tropical grasses and legumes.

He also undertook a wide range of research projects and authored a number of publications before he left the CSIRO in 1982, after 22 years, to pursue his passion for rugby league.
