Animals, People and Plants Living Ethically (A.P.P.L.E)

We’re a group of students interested in looking at the ethical problems that arise when humans, animals, plants and the environment interact.

We believe no ethical dilemma can be solved by looking at it in isolation of a wider network of factors. For instance, how can one make steps towards conservation of wildlife populations if one doesn’t take into account human culture, agriculture and ecology?

One health is the interface of human, animal and environmental health.

One health holds discussions in health related fields including topics like cultural competency/ animal health work in indigenous communities, zoonoses, biosecurity and career opportunities for vets and vet students interested in One Health. We promote student attendance at conferences, host field days and are launching a student trip to Brazil that we would like to make an annual event.
